Orlando Wedding Venue Tours: 5 things to consider when picking your venue

Venue searching can be hard enough without having to also think about the things you may be forgetting to think about!! I’ll go through the extra things you may not already be considering so you can focus on what vibe you want for your space! Not sure where to start with the venue hunt, take my quiz here to find out what suits you best! Also, if you want a hand with venue searching let’s chat!

The weather! This one may seem obvious but hear me out. Some venues are amazing for warm weather (which is most of the time here in Orlando), some other spaces are amazing for the rainy season, and others will be great for that random time of the year when it’s actually cold out. When considering your venue make sure to take into account the type of weather there will be during the available dates for your venue. If you have a date in mind but aren’t sure what to expect weather wise, I am always happy to lend a hand in picking.

The size and availability of the getting ready spaces! Not all venues offer this perk and not all “getting ready spaces” are created equal! Make sure when you are venue hunting you know how many people you can host in the spaces allotted to you as well as what time they are available to you. Some venues allow for you to use the spaces for the full day allowing you to be able to get your hair and makeup done on site while others only permit a few hours which will allow for only getting dressed on site. In the event that you only have the option of getting dressed on site you will need an airbnb or hotel room booked for 2 nights to allow for the full day in the middle to use for the day! If you need help booking your getting ready space, I am here to help!

Venue capacities. You will want to ensure your venue allows for the max capacity of guests you could possibly have at your event. Please do not assume people will say no and sign a contract for a venue that will not fit your guest capacity!

Photo locations! Every space has different options for where you may take photos. Take into account any spots that are on property and private vs ones that may be in a public space. Make sure you love where you’ll capture your photos together! It is equally important to hire someone you trust and love for your photo team like Sydney Morman Photography!

Space for each portion of your wedding day. You’ll want to make sure your venue has the space for a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. This may seem like a given but some venues have the same space you then flip and turn from ceremony to a reception space. These are amazing spaces as well so if you love it pleaseeee book it! Just make sure you are asking about any additional costs/fees for vendors to complete a room flip as a part of your team for the day!
